Just a quick follow up on this thread. I've loaded the 85 gr hpbt with H4350/AR2209 but since I had trouble finding actual hard load data for this powder/bullet combo i loaded only up from 42.0 to 45.0 gr 0.5 gr increments in Winchester 243 brass and with Fed 210M primers. 42.5-43.5 all ran at about 3075 fps and 0.75 MOA accuracy at the same POINT so I'm thinking that was the low accuracy node. From 44.0, 44.5, 45.0 gr velocity increased to about 3200 fps and groups opened up to about 1.5 MOA an.. Forum Index > Rifles general discussion > Sierra 85 gr HPBT Gameking |

Just to clarify Jared, my .338 Edge in the Precision platforms vid is .725" at the shoulder with an M16 thread. The barrel is 26" long. OAL with the 285gr was 95.6mm for .2mm jump but the throat has since gone for a walk so it now has some jump but still accurate. Velocity and jump at middle age is not unlike a .308. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D50hQluX9hY [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D50hQluX9hY] Forum Index > Rifles general discussion > 338 edge |

Thats a shame. When TF started out, there was a major learning curve, much of which you may have read about in my Accurizing book. There were no doubt some barrels in those early days that did not shoot as well as they could and some were truly flat out duds. This was not just about making mistakes, it was a path of discovery, sorting the theory of barrel making from fact. I chose to stick with TF through thick and thin and to help them get to the core of things (again as covered in the book). O.. Forum Index > Rifles general discussion > 338 edge |

I want in. I'll help with stateside marketing. Let's kick things off by offering complimentary promotional kit (see how I used "kit" like you Aussies and Kiwis) items, starting with the "Foster Special," a baseball style cap that can only be worn backward and wraparound sunglasses. Thomas, Nathan would also insist upon monolithic copper projectiles with an extra tough nose to ensure they stay together and make an exit wound for a nice blood trail over the mountains. One could argue for an extra long box magazine and make it the Tactical Practical. Also, extra light scope and rings to be sure to keep the weight to 6.5 lbs or less, a definite "mountain rifle"! Dan you probably remember when it was announced on the wireless that the british army was looking at replacing the lee enfield after the boer war with a mauser style bolt action. did you jump on your penny-farthing to go tell your friends. you know its looking a million bucks now after a rebluing specially for 100 year old action, they are well made actions, would be nice to have a 35/303 built on one hmmm. i thought Nathan would want a nice browning, with an ultra light carbon fiber stock with .. With that sort of budget it has to be a SS control round feed Rem clone for me, you get all the excellent design benefits of the Rem and more reliable cycling. So like a Montana etc, etc. with a pinned 20moa rail. Ruger's work very well after setting up but they are over complicated in their designs, way to much going on for me. Pick your adjustable stock its a very personal taste part of the equation, you all know the design characteristics to look for from reading Nathan's literature and watch.. Very funny Luke. I am sure that in the instruction booklet, the words "Hold it like a man" would not go amiss. Both Dave Manson and I are still surprised how fast the Practical reamers have been selling. We also had dies made. Dave's share of the order was sold before I could even make announcements, am not sure if he has any left. I am currently withholding putting the dies up for sale on our site as we have upgraded the seater stem further. All dies whether sold or yet to be sold will be fitte.. I thought the Remington M700 SPS 7mm Remington Magnum was already the unofficial "Terminal Ballistics Edition Ultimate Long Range Rifle" ? :) Remington supplies the rifle part of the kit, Nathan supplies the Book, DVD, and bedding kit to fix the stock, you pick a scope and off to the races we go! I guess Remington could officially sponsor Nathan like those TV gator hunter guys. Could get the stock hydrodipped with Nathan scowling and shouting "Hold that forend ya pansy!!" I would buy one. Hey all, final update for this thread. I got the same OSA (Outdoor Sporting Agencies) ammo: Buffalo River with the Sierra 135gr Hollow Points. Range was 100yds and wind was non-existant. Shooting from a bench with bags as rests. Managed this group: 0.098Mil or 0.338MOA, you can see the fouling shot to the right. Then this one: this was the final group. There was some fiddling with the scope but this group is right on centre and 1 mil high (approx 4 inches). This group was 0.093Mil or 0.319MOA In.. Quite true Warwick. A decrease in trigger weight plus oil can remove low level creep. A decrease in weight, plus polishing, plus oil will of course remove all creep. But take note that polishing can easily be overdone. So do take it slowly and carefully. Little things can make a big difference. On the Ruger M77 for example, a very light touch with a soft mop on the sear, can reduce both the pull weight and creep- thats without going below 2000 grit and approximately 2-3 seconds exposure to the c.. Had a bit of a tinker this morning, the mikes studs were too big for the threads in the stock. I remember reading online somewhere about HSP changing the thread sizes somewhere along the line. Probably a good thing because I re-tapped them to fit the larger 10-32 thread. I have a can of Dupli-color bed armour ready for another day. I read this thread a couple of weeks ago. I have the same stock and used super cheap auto "bed armour" in a spray can. It's a mat black. About 25 dollars. It came out well, I also did the bottom metal. Great look and texture. I can't yet say how long it will last, but seems strong. At this stage I recommend it.
