Dan Mayland

I'm trying to do a full length glass bedding job on my Ruger m77 Mark II in .280 Ackley Imp.

I need some help with the trigger area of the stock. Hopefully I'll get some photos up to show you guys what I've got. Any help much appreciated!!

Great first go for shore Dan!

As Nathan has already said your attention to detail has showed in your finish, a few changes to your technique and you will be very happy with your finish, well done.
Use a few of Nathans tweaks and you should find those groups will be sorted.

Hope it shoots well for your hunt, good luck!

Here is the reward of all my hard work. Looks like I'll be keeping this rifle as it seems to be my "good luck charm"

Thanks again Nathan!!

Enjoy,
Dan

Forgot to show sight in results!

First 3 shots @ 200 yard zero in 10mph wind, factory Barnes 140 Grn TSX

Not perfect, but I'll take it. Now to develop a good load and tighten that group up on a calmly day with some practice!

Hi Dan;

Congrats for the nice job and nice buck!

Some time ago, I was thinking about doing the same path... but don´t think it will worth... Mine is a M77 Mark II, but the one with mannlicher style stock (wood to the muzzle) and just 18,5" barrel for a 30-06.

I think the stock style and the muzzle band will make this rifle harmonics very complex... Aniway, I usually use it at close renges, most with running targets, so extreme accuracy is not necessary.

Have you worked the trigger? This is very bad in my opinion. Not much creep, but very high pull weight. I will order a wolf sear spring and work the trigger to get it down.

I´m now loading sierra 165 GK HPBT to 2650fps (remember just 18,5" barrel). I´m wondering what will be better to use with that barrel... heavy or light bullets? I´m using relative fast burning powder (same as the one used for the 308 win).

Last thing... barrel fouls quite heavy!!

Seem to be a lot of problems? But i love that rifle, it was my first centerfire, a gift from my parents!

Cheers
