Terminal Ballistics Research provides education for military, police and medical personal.
We currently have customers who rely on our research as a means to overcome various challenges with regards to weapons training (shooting methods) and ballistics (understanding wounding). We also consult (forensics) for various police departments worldwide.
Our consultation services are organic depending on needs. In some cases where funds are not available (such as to an individual police detective), we may offer casual assistance (free of charge). In other instances where ongoing consultation or training is required, terms will need to be negotiated. Please use the website contact form
to make an inquiry.
Our focus is on the actual, not the theoretical. Therefore, it is important to understand that our training methods are unique and our literature is generally graphic in nature. We do not use tables, graphs or ballistics gelatin to demonstrate lessons. Nor do we cater to 'trends'. We offer our clients meaningful advantages in order to help them to overcome difficult situations.
Small Arms Wound Ballistics, A graphic guide for Military, Police & Medical Personnel.
By Nathan Foster.
SAWB was written as reference material for both the trainee and academic. It is a no BS book for cops, infantry soldiers, snipers, security contractors and medics. It casts away myths and gets to the point. SAWB also supplies the experienced medic with a working document that can be used to teach subject matter to others (via photos). And yes, its quite graphic, starting off with some fairly dramatic head shots and getting heavier from there. Above all, it's about getting to know your tools and learning what you are up against.

If you are contemplating our training services from a previously closed system (such as a military training program), understand that your system may be heavily corrupted by ongoing misconceptions and myths. Note also that we are now living within an information age that has an unfortunate effect of subconsciously influencing protocols. This information is sometimes based on nothing more than industry marketing hype. It is about sales, not saving lives. In literal terms, that which we take to be established fact is in MANY cases, nothing more than a meme. Through evidence based training techniques, it is possible to see through the marketing, the flawed methods and memes for what they really are. This process can be quite shocking once one discovers how greatly it can put the soldier at a severe disadvantage (unless he wants a career as an actor). By the same token, please do not waste our time. We train people to become the best that they can be. There is no room here for placating those stuck in dogma. A system either works or it doesn't. And in many cases, it doesn't. If it did, I would not be teaching men how to shoot after they leave the military.
The Practical Guide To Long Range Shooting
By Nathan Foster
Today, technology and gadgetry are being marketed as being more important in gaining good results than individual shooter skill. In his book The Practical Guide to Long Range Shooting Nathan dispels myths and demonstrates with clear, easily understood instructions, what it truly takes to become a superior marksman. For many years, Nathan Foster has taught shooters how to excel beyond the levels taught by other shooting schools worldwide. The main focus is to teach shooters how to achieve clean killing (as opposed to hitting a target) under real world conditions and in adverse environments. Shooters are taught the fundamentals of both rifle accuracy and marksmanship. Students are taught how to get on target and make a kill with minimum fuss and without being handicapped by superfluous technology.
