Following some discussion on this forum, and in agreement with Nathan, I have embarked on the construction of a stainless steel field-bowie knife for Nathan to trial. The steel of choice is CPMS35VN, the handle will be black. The design will be to Nathan's specs, plus a bit of fiddling by me, which represent a solid working knife, not a safe queen by any stretch.
