good all around bullet for 6.5 creedmoor?

Im wanting to settle on one bullet for everything I do with this rifle. Its a 22" light weight hunting rifle. Every year I hunt Stones Sheep, mountain goats, deer and every couple years I drive down to wyoming to hunt pronghorns. I also spend a fair amount of time shooting steel out to 550 yds with the ability to go as far as 1150 yds(not likely to shoot that far). The bullets I have on hand and are usually available 130 berg vld, 129 sst, 123 amax, I also have a couple boxes of 140 eld-m. Which would you recommend as an all arounder for this cartridge and barrel length? Thanks

Hi Trever, give the 143gr ELD-x a go and see how this shoots in your rifle.

As a reminder for all as to these new bullets:
The ELD-M is the A-Max. The ELD-X can be considered a hybrid between the SST and A-Max. It has the jacket of the SST but a form akin to the A-Max.

If you want more information Trever, I wrote the Cartridges book to help people better understand long range / low velocity killing. It is broken down into steps with a method for cartridge selection, then bullet selection, then determining max effective range. There are tests you can perform to verify info so that you are not reliant on "what Nathan said".

All the best.

Thanks for the response Nathan, I just started using this cartridge a year ago. I used the 130 hunting vld for a hunting load last season, took a stone ram at 370 yds and a pronghorn at 215 yds. For shooting steel its been mostly the 123 amax. I'm finding the accuracy of the 130 vld a little inconsistent lately in my loads and in this rifle so I'd like to be able to use one reasonably priced and regularly available bullet for everything. I'm in the process of testing my scope to see if that is the source of the sudden inconsistencies before I give up on the berger. I was going to add your handloading book to the two I already have (accurizing/maintenance and long range shooting), looks like I should add the cartridges book as well. Thanks again.

I've always found 129gr SST to be a great all round bullet in my 6.5, super accurate and good expansion out to 500yds.
