Handloading the 264 Win Mag

I just bought my first 264 caliber rifle after nearly 40 years of shooting and hunting. The rifle is a first year production(1958) Model 70 Westerner with a 26" barrel.
Im primarily a whitetail deer hunter and my longest possible shot on my property is 258 yards. I zero in 2" high @ 100 yards and can hold dead on anywhere i see a deer. Ive killed 3 deer already with Remington 140 gr Cor-lokt factory loads with dramatic one shot poleaxed results.
My question is what bullets and powders are you using to get similar results on game weighing 200 pounds and less. Being an old fart i prefer they fall in their tracks and not run off. Saves me lotsa effort.
Ive not sworn allegiance to any weight or maker of bullet. I just want to know what loads CONSISTANTLY provide similar results.

The Knowledge Base on this site would be a good read for you.

I agree with Nathan, that the 120 grain Barnes TSX would be effective for your purposes.

You might find once sighted and tested with good handloads up to your stated maximum range of 258 yards, that you could zero it 1.5 inches high or less at 100 yards with a low scope mount.
