Ricardo LaborinGents,Drawing on all of your experience. I'm being offered a Rem 700 5R Milspec in .300WM in Mexico, which is EXTREMELY rare (permanent import of guns to Mexico is harder than nuclear disarmament). The gun is very lightly used and I know the guy who owns it, good with care. This would be the upper end of my battery (.22-250, .270 Win and .300WM) and my go-to LR learning/tinkering rig. What's your recommendation??? Saludos, Ricardo. |

Ricardo LaborinRe: Rem 700 5R Milspec .300WM - Advice Requested!Additional info:- I would walk around with it and hike - It would replace a Sako L61R - Max yardage 500-600 Saludos! |

Nathan FosterRe: Rem 700 5R Milspec .300WM - Advice Requested!Theses are a nice rifle Ricardo. Slightly heavier than the Sako Finnbear which is already a rifle of good heft.It would be nice if you could keep the Finnbear and pay for the 5R in installments, picking it up once you have paid for it. It can be a shame to lose a rifle if you have formed a bond with it or if it is accurate. |

Martin TaylorRe: Rem 700 5R Milspec .300WM - Advice Requested!Great rifle Ricardo and a potent cal!For learning/tinkering, it will chew up some powder so make sure you can get a good supply and as Nathan said they are hefty to carry with good optics fitted. |

Ricardo LaborinRe: Rem 700 5R Milspec .300WM - Advice Requested!Thank you Guys. It's a funny thing what happens with rifles, I can stay rational with any purchase OTHER than rifles. Decided to pass, and work with what I have now, good-bad-ugly, then start from there. Saludos from Mexico! |
