Hi Guys, here is a link to a radio interview I did at the request of forum member Thomas Kitchen:

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/thehuntingshow/2014/10/13/ep29--interview-with-nathan-from-terminal-ballistics-research

Am in the finishing stages of the book (reloading)- editing, photos etc. This is a very busy time and it has become difficult for me to answer mail and forum posts with any depth sorry. We really need to get the book launched by December for Santa so its all hands on deck at the moment.

Thanks guys.

Nathan, that was a fun interview. Living in the US, it was great to hear your voice and work my way through the Kiwi accent and phrases (No worries?). Very well-articulated presentation and a fine representation of what Terminal Ballistics is all about. Honestly, you could do your own radio show, and maybe that should be a next step once the books are done. Great Job!

Suckers- 20 minutes of your lives you won't get back LOl.

Thanks guys.

Have to pass on the pre-orders sorry Craig, It would add a bit too much pressure. Plus the problem of the ebook download set up with instant download after payment. But thanks for your support, really appreciate it.

One last update of a personal nature. Riley has been mad keen on popping off rabbits and possums in the evenings. I thought she was going to be a real princess and go the other way but once she finally got her first animal, the predator came out- now its constant nagging.

I started her out with our 10/22 which is far less than ideal but she was on the fence, no point setting up her own rifle. Had to shoot crossed arm and scope picture was poor- stock way too long. We spent a good deal of time practicing before moving on to small game. She shot a rabbit at 90 yards with subs a few days back- Riley shooting, Dad spotting. She helps me with the skinning and gutting rabbits for the table which is great. Possums get plucked and the bodies go to the pig (because the dogs get way too much gas) Once I was sure she had the bug, I could set about putting a rifle together.

A head shot at 90 yards. Was going to go one of two ways huh:

I rummaged through gutted parts rifles and put a Toz 17 together on Sunday, cut the butt stock right down, lapped the bore, trigger job, blob of bedding fore and aft- no time for anything fancy. She loves handling the little rifle, just have to hope it shoots straight. The Toz rifles can be pretty good when set up right. We'll see. Could be for naught....

I see Savage make a nice sized youth .22 at the moment. I have not played with the trigger- that's the key for kids, needs to be light for their little fingers.

Plucking a buck possum. Once we have enough, the fur gets sold and is eventually blended with Merino wool. This can be done as a hobby or commercially. Steph and I have both done our time commercially:

OK, better get back to it- much work to do. Again, sorry for any delayed or missed email replies. Very hectic time ahead.

Firstly, welldone with the interview, what where you worried about Nathan!

& secondly, the same to Miss Riley, great shooting, you will be pushing dad out the way in no time!

Nothing better than having your kids beside you and watching them grow into this sport, these are my favorite hunting times.

Good stuff!

just saw this on the hunting show face book page

Steven Greene great show, I've just spent hours reading up on their website, some great info on there. A bit of firearm myth-busting too!

i know nathan was nervous bout interview which who wouldn't 20mins of talking bout yourself is a big ask for anyone but don't think it could be a more positive result

Re: Radio Interview with Nathan and update
Just an update, the Toz shot .9" at 60 yards with either myself or Riley. Wind was 5mph, accounting for up to .7" dispersion- so all good (unless the wind was making it shoot better LOL).

Made Riley a drop chart to 125 yards (not come up chart- will need to hold over with cheap 4x32 scope) with drop in inches, then ruled a line down the page with inch marks (basically a hand drawn 11 inch ruler). In this manner we can make maths a bit of fun and she can learn imperial math which is no longer taught in NZ schools. May sound a tad complex but keeps a young mind learning. Little things huh.
