Jim SnyderHappy to have found this site. The Knowlege Base is great!I took a big 200lb plus mule deer with Hornady 160 grain Leverevolution factory loads this year. Wish I had taken more pics to add to the info here. The shot was at 25 yards. The first bullet hit the back bone and blew up a bunch of good backstrap. I have used that shot on whitetail before and it snapped the backbone and dropped the deer on the spot. Not this time! 2nd shot went high through the lungs as it was slowly moving off. Third shot hit the sholder and dropped it. All shots were in a matter of 3 seconds. be right back! lol |

Nathan FosterRe: 30/30 LeverevolutionHi Jim, glad you are enjoying the site. That poor .30-30 certainly had its work cut out for it but I bet the final shoulder shot got the job done. Snap shooting / follow up shooting is certainly very demanding. In time I will have the rest of my research uploaded. A lot of folk are waiting on the .358's to be uploaded, fans of the fast handling medium bores enjoyed in situations as you just described. One step at a time. |

Jim SnyderRe: 30/30 LeverevolutionNathan, funny you would mention the .358's. I'm looking forward to the 35 Wheelen info the most! |
