Daniel SchindlerLet me start by saying I wish the masses would find this place and spend time here. So much good, highly useful advice by Nathan and contributors.OK - to my question... For reasons too long to explain, I have always been a fan of bullet speed. IMO, more is typically better with the right bullet of course. While bullet penetration and 2 holes in the animal certainly has its advantages, a more rapidly expanding bullet has its advantages too, very often providing a DRT - along with more meat damage. So, here I am, a huge .270 Winchester fan using a noticeably faster 130 gr C&C bullet - versus all the advantages a slower 150 / 160 gr Partition provides. I'm aware that every bullet comes with advantages & disadvantages. For hunting - on terminall effects - how do you personally weigh out / choose between the lighter, faster bullet and the slower, heavier bullet advantages? I know both bullets will work. I'm trying to learn which bullet carries the most advantages. Thanks. |
