Am getting a 308 semi custom, will have a 1:7 twist AKA Kaimai rifle from Glen Maisey in NZ 20 inch barrel. was looking for projectiles and I come across these 2 I think the VT is 174 grains and A tip match is 176g ?? where do these new bullets (to me at least) fit?!? I have read all the book and understand that ELD-M is the old A-Max kinda. Rifle will/could be used for all ranges out to about 600 with majority in traditional hunting modes, target species deer from fallow to red.

Hi Michael. The A-Tip is stout due to the reinforcing created by the tip. Poor results below 2200fps. The ELD-VT is the opposite, the mostly open ogive helps weaken the design, full fragmentation.

7 twist is for subsonic. See rifles second edition.
