Mike RTook my wildcat No4 out on its first trip, tried it out on a small very unfortunate pig and a Roo that was caught up struggling in a fence during the day. Both impacts were over 2,850 fps both wounds were spectacular. Won't go into too much gory details but pig was practically turned inside out( ie everything and I mean everything that was inside is now well and truly outside). The poor Roo was even more gory, like I hit it with an anti tank missileI've seen lots and lots of things shot with a 308 and 270 that my friends have and shot quite a few things with my 7mm mag and 150 gr ballistic tips, but was very surprised with how the Hornady SST performed The No4 trigger is taking a bit of getting used to, it feels so different to all my other triggers. I don't think I adjusted very well going from shooting my Howa all the time to the two stage No4 even though I recently done a few days at the range prior to the trip. The Zeiss Terra 4-12 it now wears is much much better than the really cheap Nikko stirling 3-9 it had before. That it lasted that long is amazing. 308 Enfield magazine was pretty much trouble free as long as no more than 5 rounds at a time, 4 is better again. Almost there, is that a light I see at the end of the tunnel Doing another trip next month hopefully get to shoot some bigger pigs and get a better feel for the cartridge and for the trigger. Will have to hit up the gun shop for more 3135g's please |

Warwick MarflittRe: 150 gr SST results out of my 303 MadHey Mike. Fantastic initial results. What range where you at when "Caligula" tipped their insides outside? What's your MV? |

Luis VazquezRe: 150 gr SST results out of my 303 MadI've used the 139gr SST on my 7x08 with great success on the past but dont have pictures of them, I unfortunately lost a picture gallery with aeveral huning images. Mule and whitetail deer go down on the spot with well placed shots. The closest shot I took was 115 yards on a mule deer, it fell on the spot. The longest was 375 yards on a coues whitetail, it walked about 10 years and it was done. I fear it will blow up on impact on my 7mm Rem Mag for use on deer so I use heavier bullets on it.I've also used the Silver Ballistic Tips with great success, mostly the 140gr on my 7mm Rem Mag on Javelinas and Coyotes. Javelinas I focus on head shots so I dont damage the meat. The link below shows an image of a coyote with an impact velocity above 3,100 fps at 128 yards, complete blow up at that speed. https://photos.app.goo.gl/p5iQ7FLr3hkEguHb7 I apologize, cannot figure out how to post an image Beat regards Luis |

Garrett PasqualeRe: 150 gr SST results out of my 303 MadI have had good results with the 150sst out of a 308 out to 400 yards. There was a definite decline in performance at 450 yards. MV was 2850. Great pill! |
