Hi Mark, you may be able to purchase via Reloaders Supplies NZ- depending on Australia post and how they play ball. But other than that, there are no importers in Australia.

Everything is a mess at the moment with the panic buy followed by the U.S military ordering infinite ammo supplies. It has put a strain on raw materials, copper is now hard to come by all around, no matter which brand of projectile is on order. There are still stocks of the less common projectiles (EG 150 grain .303 Hornady soft point, .358 250 grain Interlock etc etc) but when it comes to modern highly popular bullets, supplies are dwindling from all manufacturers. We will all have to be patient for the next few months at least.

Re: Matrix availability in Australia
Thanks Nathan, I'm in no rush at the moment.

The reason I was asking is I am still researching an all and round rifle for longer range than my mountain 7mm-08 which I will keep as a lightweight outfit.

The Matrix VLD 277 bullets look fantastic for REM 700 SPS SS 270 WSM. Fantastic as a medium weight factory rifle with the same balistics as a 7mm SAUM without the expense of building a custom.

I just received an email from Matrix and they confirmed NZ and unfortunately they are out of stock.

They also confirmed the 165 gr will work in the factory 1:10" twist, but the 175gr requires a 1:9" twist.

Is this a good combination for the REM SA or will the long bullet be too long?

Try to type on a phone!!

I ment to say an all round sporter capable of longer range.

At the moment I don't have a need for the range of the 7mm Practical.

The ballistics of the Matrix .277 165 gr with a MV of 2950 fpm, shows 2000 fpm is 930 yards and 1470 ft/lbs. (5000' density altitude of the tropics). This covers everything in Australia except Buffalo and it is more capable than I am as a shooter.

Re: Matrix availability in Australia
Hi Mark, none of the WSM's are ideal for the M700 SA unless the magazine is modified. The WSM's are not truly short and most manufacturers utilize optimized or partially optimized magazine lengths. I will be listing exact details on the the various COAL's versus available mag lengths in the next book (still a couple of months away sorry).

Nathan, in your long range book, I notice that the Winchester Model 70 has generous internal magazine in there WSM line. Is it generous enough for the 165 Matrix?

Hi Mark, yes the M70 is long enough.

Mark, did you get the 165 matrix to shoot well out of a 1:10 barrel? I'm looking to do the same thing.

Thanks

Jack, have not gone down that track yet, happy with 7mm08 and 300 WM at this stage.
