Bryan WebsterRe: 225grain 375 hornady interlockLikely dropped them since most people are using from 300 grain on up. |

Bryan WebsterRe: 225grain 375 hornady interlockI have used the 270 gr interlock a bit and they worked great on large bear. Flattened a moose with one as well. Very impressive but way overkill on moose.http://www.hornady.com/store/375-Cal-.375-270-gr-SP-RP/ |

Sebastian ShandRe: 225grain 375 hornady interlockthats a bugger i was hoping to try them out.I'm using 250g sierra game kings at the moment. haven't shot anything yet but was thinking of going bit lighter. nathan suggested i try the 225 interlocks but i don't want to start using them and then not be able to buy more. do you think the 270 grain interlock will perform similar to the 225? I'm only using it on NZ game like deer and pigs goats etc i started out with 250grain taipan projectiles but was having some ridicules bullet blow up issues at close range so i changed but maybe i should try them again as it may have been a bad batch issue |

Gerry MoriartyRe: 225grain 375 hornady interlockI just used the 300gr SGK in .375 H&H in a Hornandy case with 68.5gr of RL-15 and a Fed. primer going a tad over 2500fps to harvest a female bison. The shot was taken at 105yds and the on side blood shot meat was surprising. The bullet hit a rib and opened a hole that you could push a cue ball threw. The off side was maybe golfball size. Again the thing that surprised me was the amount of blood shot meat. |

Bryan WebsterRe: 225grain 375 hornady interlockMy preference would be the Sierra .375 dia. 250 gr. SBT 250 gr. SBT Gamingfor what you are doing. They should also be more available over the longer term. There are a lot of bullets out there that I have never used that would work well too, and I am sure Nathan can help you here. |

Bryan WebsterRe: 225grain 375 hornady interlockBy the way Sebastion, to get up to date, accurate information on any Hornady bullet just go to their web site and leave a message. They usually reply in a day or so. Same with the rest of them. |

Bryan WebsterRe: 225grain 375 hornady interlockJust noted Speer has a decent Hot Cor bulletPart Number 2471 Cal.375 235 grain Semi-Spitzer SP While I never used this particular one, the Speer 160 grain Hot Cor bullets have been nearly perfect in my 7mm Rem Mag on moose and elk for years, with 70 to 80% weight retention and decent penetration with fast kills the normal. Non have walked or ran more than 35 yards, and even those were running while hit. So if the 375 cal 235 grainers are up to that quality I would think they would be dandy. |

Paul LevermanRe: 225grain 375 hornady interlockFound some herehttp://www.wholesalesports.com/store/wsoo/en/Categories/Hunting/Reloading/Bullets/Traditional-Hunting-Bullet/p/80061 They still show stock. |

Nathan FosterRe: 225grain 375 hornady interlockThe 225gr is a very good deer bullet. One of my favorites. The mix of a soft bullet and Low SD help ensure max energy transfer. The heavier you go (bullet) and the lighter the animal, the more the delay in killing- especially if velocity is down.I see others have posted alternatives. But still I hope Hornady continue this bullet. It was designed with a purpose in mind and works as intended. |
@ 02:34 pm (GMT) |
Bryan WebsterRe: 225grain 375 hornady interlockThe alternatives were posted since the 225 grain appears absent from the Hornady list online as well as in my most recent poster showing supposedly all Hornady bullets on it. I agree that such deletions are unfortunate, and hope it just means something in the production was short on them, but never emailed them to ask about these in particular. |

Bryan WebsterRe: 225grain 375 hornady interlockHey Paul. I think Sebastian was hoping he could get into a bullet that he could buy over a longer term. Now that it appears the 225 might have been dropped by Hornady he could either load up on a pile of them from in stock items as you suggested, or look for an alternative that might suit his needs. |

Thomas KitchenRe: 225grain 375 hornady interlockif your worried about supply Seb i would try the 270gr interlock, you can also try bit of meplat trimming or hollow pointing with them. |

Sebastian ShandRe: 225grain 375 hornady interlockyour on the money there bryan. i would stock up on them but unfortunately i have blown my budget stocking up on other projectiles so at this stage i'll use up my sierra game kings and then see whats around after that.i was looking at those thomas and that may be the way to go with the me plat trimming or i was possibly thinking of having another go with taipan projectiles. I'm hoping to try something lighter then 250g like nathan said going to a lower SD and a bit softer. taipan do a 220 grain flat nose which could be a go. does anyone import taipan into nz or do you have to buy direct from aussie? |
