MatchGrade bedding compound is a product that has been specifically designed and tested by Terminal Ballistics Research Ltd in conjunction with a leading New Zealand polymer resin manufacturer.

Having been in the business of accurising rifles for many years, one of the more difficult aspects of the job has been finding a suitable polymer resin bedding compound. Typical problems with bedding compounds can include:

• Mixture runny and difficult to work with
• Mixture cures hard but is brittle
• Mixture cures tough but lacks rigidity and lifts from stock after extended time
• Air bubbles at surface of finished job
• Metal powder additives reacting with gun metal / oxidization
• Ridiculously high prices

The criteria for MatchGrade compound includes the following traits:

• Non runny mix for ease of working and handling
• Generous open/working time before mixture begins to set
• A dense, non reactive metal powder filler
• Minimum possible air bubbles
• Glass hard when set yet tough (non brittle)
• Will not chip when shaped (chisel, Dremmel etc)
• Permanent
• Zero shrinkage
• Optimum rifle accuracy
• Economical for end users
