Misinformation

In Australia there's currently a debate surrounding the Adler A110 shotgun. For those who haven't seen it, it's a lever action shotgun with a 5 round mag capacity, some models have a 7 round mag capacity.

The country seems to be losing its mind over this gun. Currently it sits in category A (with other shotguns except pumps and semis). The government is looking to move it to category B (centrefire rifles).

People are losing their minds as if this guns was responsible for world war 2 and is going to start world war 3 "if it's legalised", but the bloody thing is already legal!!

One person is trying to say that the gun is capable of firing 7 shots at once! I can't believe the fear/hype/bull crap that is being spread in the name of a "Safe Society". It really gets me when people spread crap because they can't be bothered to find out the facts. You have to like shooting, but don't be ignorant and pretend you're taking some imaginary high ground.

Rant over

Re: Misinformation
That last line should read, "you DON'T have to like shooting..."

Re: Misinformation
i did read an article not that long ago about the humble 303 with its 10 round mag could be in the firing line.

there's a lot of media interest happening here around firearms but i hope common sense prevails.

you decent ozzie's (we don't want the criminal ones so umm yeah you kiwi's living in oz) just need to move to nz, i have owned both an ak and sks.
i have also walked into a gun shop brought a gun right there, went hunting that afternoon with it.

Re: Misinformation
Yeah, we got some pretty tough laws. We need a permit to buy a guy, which costs money, and there is a mandatory 28 day waiting period from the day after the form is dated. Then about a 2 week processing time. So at best 6 weeks (assuming the post hasn't buggered anything up) before you can buy a gun here :(

I know of a case where a man wanted to import a semi-auto due for clay shooting due to his age and his strength not being as it was. It was all approved and then landed in the country (from USA), after a massive hassle of course, then the firearms registry turned around and said he had to submit all his paper work again before they would release the firearm from customs.

The tool box of population control and manipulation. Get the sheepeople to look over there! So we can make a change here! When they look back only a few will see it and less still will complain. I had better shut up and get back to digging the bunker lol
Enjoy your extinction. "YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED"!

Re: Misinformation
Are you in Aus Warwick?

One of recent former PMs was on the TV calling a lever action "rapid fire" to further their own agenda.

The vast swathe of people now referring to a lever action gun as "rapid fire". Having said that... I manage to educate someone who was grateful for the info. He was calling it rapid fire, I explained what rapid fire actually was, he said thanks, but that's not often you come across those kind of people.

Hey Andrew. I have worked in Oz but I'm a."It's good to be Black" Kiwi .
I have a. 22LR Miroku lever action it's tube magazine will hold 15 rounds of hv or 21 rounds of .22 shorts. From the shoulder I can rain lead on a bunch, brood, heard, cache, posse, clan, gang, or congregation of rabbits take ya pick!!! just by opening and closing my fingers grip on the palm grip. It's a great tool for feeding the family small game. The People need to learn how to think for their selves rather than accept the shit that flows when the facepook is spouting effluent.
As Morrie said in the book "Tuesdays with Morrie" "Learn to love or die"!
