Hey guys just wishing you all a happy time for the long weekend. Take care and don't shoot any Rabbits. Just eat them instead. If you're going out for the Roar in NZ ? Be alert and Identify your target. Remember that the stag you're roaring may be another hunter? All the best.

Re: Happy Easter
This is the area(above) that the HB regional council and National party government are spending millions of $$$$ trying to promote and presell the farmers water to build the Ruataniwha dam in Hawks Bay. I hope that it never gets built. Its a great place for a day trip 4×4ing, hunting and trout fishing. Damn the dam cried the Fantail!

Re: Happy Easter
how did every ones Easter go?
i went camping (glamping compared to hunting)out Whitianga, with the wife, staying in the same campground her parents and extended family.

the Wife's uncle runs a charter boat out there so he took us out fishing, managed a few alright snapper. then on the way in tried another spot and i managed to catch a 86cm kingfish.
i'm not much of a fisherman so i was just happy to pull up a different species and have some fun trying not to loose it on my little bait runner of a rod it was struggling a bit specially as there was a kahawai on the other hook.
i have talked to a few people since and sounds like catching decent sized kingfish, kinder like shooting a 12 point plus stag or catching a 150lbs plus boar its doable and some people do it regular but there's a lot of people that haven't managed to do it.
so it was worth all the traffic trying to get there and back after all.

Awesome Thomas. Good eating size Kingfish alright. And nothing wrong with the Kahawai freshly smoked or fried in real butter with some lemon squeezed over it. Yum is I getting hungry.

Re: Happy Easter
