Hi Sharyn, oh dear, my stomach is turning thinking of that sweet rum and sweeter saspirilla.

Congratulations on a successful hunt and for being able to put Dora the Explorer to practical use. My daughter Riley tests me on it (Dora)- and unfortunately I fail most times. Our Spanish readers (sorry Alvaro) would be horrified.

Buenos días a todos!

Horrified? After a couple of posts "kicking" the english dictionary and writing like Sitting Bull?

It´s great to hear some spanish here! Here in Spain, Dora exploradora and Manny Manitas teach our childrens some english. Sharyn, hope to see your reply with more spanish here! Nathan, maybe I can help you solving some of your exams... I hope Riley was not very demanding teacher!! LOL

Anyway, I´m sure a couple of drinks (whisky for me, please) will help us to speak more fluent!

Un saludo!

PS. Sharyn, "days" is "días"... It´s hard to speak spanish! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LjDe4sLER0

Hi Nathan & Alvaro

Nathan - Rum @ Sars is the latest " trendy drink mix " over here -- It's called THE MURDERED CAT -- LOL

Hi Alvaro - It is difficult to explain how the Spanish language became involved in a campfire discussion --- It began with a couple of " YOBBO 'S " singing bar songs ( dirty ditties ) in Spanish ---- A " yobbo " is a male person who is intoxicated and not at home -- LOL

Regards -Sharyn

Re: campfire comfort
I believe I can explain this in context:

A yobbo walks up to a sheila in a bar and says "fancy a root darl". To which she replies "Piss off ya smooth talkin bastard".

Fishing

The rain was pouring and there was a big puddle in front of the pub.
A ragged old man was standing there with a rod and hanging a string into the puddle.
A tipsy- looking, curious gentleman came over to him and asked what he was doing.
'Fishing,' the old man said simply.

'Poor old fool,' the gentleman thought and he invited the ragged old man to a drink in the pub.
As he felt he should start some conversation while they were sipping their Rum @ Sars , the gentleman asked,
'And how many have you caught?'
'You're the eighth,' the old man answered.

Hi all! Nice posts here!

Ok, yobbo... I got it. Maybe you can use "golfo" in spanish.

Bob, nice joke. I know a few, but not sure about my way to translate to english...

Sharyn... maybe you want to tell us what songs were you singing... ;)
