I tried a couple of engineering supply stores but could only locate large tubs of premixed valve grinding compound when what I really want is small quantity of AO powder in fine and medium grade.

Also what's the go with silicon carbide which is commonly found in such compounds ? I presume that would be safe for lug lapping but what about fire lapping if it happened to be obtained in powder form ?
