Neck Turning

Paul Leverman

I picked up the bottom of the line Brownell's NT1000 neck turning tool. Mainly because it came with two mandrels of my choice of calibres. Second reason was I was bored.

What a surprise! Easy to use, accurate and repeatable, and comfortable on the hands. Other more expensive models may work better, but i think for my purposes, being somewhere around 1/4 thou difference from any two points, is good enough for me.

Haven't fired any of them yet, but it was a new experience and learning curve, and right up Meticulous Avenue where I live.

And Nathan, as usual, was correct. Be prepared to sacrifice a few cases.
