If you have a chrony F1, here is a video for some cheap mods you can do yourself.

-Lights for indoor or cloudy/shady days
-remote control to access hi,lo,SD,ES and avg FPS

Re: Chrony F1 Mods
Thanks, Todd. At our range, with our weather, I've always had that doubt that the readings weren't always what they should be. With this set up, even on a normal day, it should help even out the light issues. Good find.

Re: Chrony F1 Mods
I made myself a remote for my F1.

Went to a hobby shop bought a momentary switch and a 3.5mm headphone jack for $2.60 and 10m of 2 strand wire at a secondhand shop for $1.

Works perfect. Cycles through all the info: hi,lo,avg,es,sd then speed of each shot in order.

Chrony suggests turning the unit off and on to start a new string, but also has a 4 step method to use the remote to reset. I could not get it to work with the remote. I always turn it off between loads anyway while the barrel cools and I walk to see the targets.

Re: Chrony F1 Mods
Because we sometimes shoot in the cold, and batteries don't last, I picked up some terminal ends for the square 9v's and made up a 15' "extension cord". Made a second one about 4' long, hooked the battery to this one, put it in my inside chest pocket to keep warm, ran the cord down my sleeve and plugged the extension cord into that.

Battery stays warm, doesn't die, and can disconnect to go downrange.
