cutting edge projectiles

has anyone had any experience with cutting edge projectiles?
i was trolling thru forums last night reading up on long range 8mm projectiles (or lack of) when i tripped over a link for cutting edge which have just started making long range hunting and target shooting projectiles which is quite exciting i thought. they are designed for single feed application only and quite heavy, one being 225grains and the other 256grains the heavier one apparently suited to faster twist rates. with a BC estimated at .640. dead eye dicks here in new zealand stock cutting edge but not in 8mm but after a phone call this morning they said they can get some in on there next order in about 6months.

i also read on the same forum that berger are looking at the possibility of making an 8mm long range hunting projectile sometime in the future?

hi sebastian.
Nathan has written easy to follow info on copper bullets in his book. i wouldn't hold out hope these will be any better.

have a watch of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNYq-QeHEuw

if your worried about projectiles choices you might want to look into something like 338 win mag using a max's or rocky mountain projectiles.

it seems the problem with the 8mm rem mag is you have all the energy in the world but lack the projectiles to transfer it to game.

Re: cutting edge projectiles
hmm yeah I'm wary of these after reading nathans write up but will try them even if they are only good for target shooting so be it gotta have a crack!
i knew what i was getting myself into with the lack of 8mm projectiles and have looked at other options i.e. 7mm stw and the 338 and also just keeping it as 375 but the problem is if know one shows interest in long range 8mm projectiles then its going to keep declining as lack of buyers means lack of production and so forth.
i have accepted the fact that it could go either way and if i end up with a 500yard rifle so be it, i have an itch that needs to be scratched!
and worse case scenario re barrel it in another calibre and carry on!
