practical starting to come together

So as you all know the weather has been shit lately! hopefully no one has been too badly effected by it up north.
today was the first day without 30+ km winds here in North Canty. Ive been waiting to do some range verification with the practical (Thumper) and today was the day.
Took the .22 out to and started with it just to get warmed up. Sighted Thumper in 2" high at 100 and then took her out to 250. 360 and 588yrds. Finally stretching her legs. Dots on the cliff at shorter distances were disappearing in clouds of dust. I put the gong up at 588. was a struggle trying to get it up on the clay cliff but managed to hang it to a broom bush root.

Anyway. 6km right to left wind dialed 1/2 put in 6.75 up and let one go. Girl frind called it just right. Ok was a little confused. Sent another, same call.

Decided to drive up and take a look. was actually hitting just off the left edge and the dust was shooting out the right and so she thought thats where i was hitting.
back to the gun dialed in 1/2 more right and let one fly. Ding! :), was low and just right. decide to try a group and not corrrect.

Measure group at .261 moa, or 1.6 inchs. (if i have the math right)

I had stopped in at Nathans a while ago and he had given me some pointers on shooting the magnum. Thanks again Nathan, seems to be paying off.

nice to have something i put together from scratch shooting well. [/img][img]

Good shit Rob and your lucky to have a girl in tow to spot.
Going to take Christine/mother Bear out next weekend and try find a slow deer for her to shoot. I bought her/ me a tikka 308 to get her into it she has been keen as since I let her lose on the bunnies and got the lust for blood. Not bad for an Auckland chick :)

I've seen a fb picture of Christine carting a deer on her back. Got a keep there! Yup I'm pretty lucky with my lady. Going I get her a 260. Her 308 just isn't working out. Damn Browning!

What have others been working on lately?
