35 Cal. 250 gr. Norma Oryx Discontinued?

It seems so. I have eight Oryx cartridges for my Savage "Maxis" 358 Norma conversion left. I was elk hunting here in Idaho with it last week and I may return to the unit for another go at it. The season closes on Sept. 30 in this unit but re-opens Nov. 1-11. Eight cartridges are plenty for now but I always recheck the rifle after any changes or maintenance where important stuff gets loosened and re-tightened or before a hunt.

It's too bad Oryx bullets are no longer available. I don't have any 250 gr. Hot Cor bullets but I worked up some loads with the 250 gr. Partition and they are not "sub MOA", as are my Oryx loads. By far, most 3 and 5 prone-shot groups with my Oryx load are under an MOA out to 350 yards--strangely, even with an MDT "Oryx" branded bipod, whereas I usually shoot off bags / backpack.) Maybe that MDT Oryx bipod was designed to work with an Oryx bullet! ;)

We on this forum also know the Partition and Hot Cor bullets are not as reliable for close-in shoulder shots on Elk and Moose as the Oryx, though the Hot Cor has a great reputation for price/performance.

Maybe Swift will manufacture a run of A-frame bullets soon. (Optics Planet is taking backorders for an estimated March 2027 delivery.) Are Hawk bullets good to go? I'd rather have a bird in the hand that works well. Which Hawk bullet should I order?

Thanks!
