My first outing with the 87 grain hornady V Max this is the result of a Fallow yearling hind she was about 100 yards away standing facing away on an angle I hit her about 6 inches behind her shoulder angling towards her right shoulder the built hit a rib on the way in leaving a 3 inch hole under the skin fragmenting and destroying the lungs but caused no meat damage at all she staggered in a circle not moving her back legs and collapsed dead on the spot the bullets were devastating killers on the goats we were shooting out to 250 yards but I do feel they would be to frangible if they were in heavy winter coats or if they were wet (raining) or heavier bodied animals so I will load up some 85 grain sierra BTHP for that purpose.

probably isn't any consolation to the deer but i got it on video as well unfortunately the camera has about a two second delay before it starts filming so it missed the bullet impact by a fraction but got the stagger before she collapsed
