When I was hunting up North or doing canoe trips I cryovac my loaded rounds in lots of 10 to keep them dry.
Take 5 out and the other 5 don't rattle in your pocket.

Re: How long can a store powder
Trevor,
I'm new at this--so bear with me. I recently traded some of my home made fishing lures for a can(metal can) of IMR 4198 plus I bought another of the same. One can had been opened and the seal broken, the other sealed and tightly closed. The lot numbers on both cans: E94MA21. I'll venture 1994 was the manufacture date. I loaded my .375 Win and chronographed the loads for HRN 220 bullet at around 1950. So, I guess you can say about 21 years at least. Good luck !
