6.5-284 Norma.

Just bought a used Cooper and factory Norma 140 g ammo. After reading your article,Nathan, I had some concern about how the clambering might have been done. With the thinner brass in the neck area can I safely assume Factory ammo should be okay? Wouldn't your caution about about matching brass to differing chamber dimensions be limited to the use of the thicker necked down brass?

Thanks [b]

Factory ammo is made to Saami specs so I can't see why there would be a problem.

Thanks Jim.
Do any of you guys have hunting experience with this cartridge?

Hi Dan, yes, no need to worry about this rifle which will have been built to CIP specs.

You will want to get set up for hand loading as soon as possible as the current Norma loads are pretty ho hum. If you do use the current Oryx load, keep your ranges inside 200 yards and aim to break bone- otherwise goodbye deer.
