Nathan at Reloaders Supplies on the 10th

Nathan Foster

Hi all, just a heads up for Kiwis, I will be at Reloaders Supplies on the 10th (next Friday) for a meet and greet, book signing etc. Will be there from noon till knock off.

Not a great deal of other news at the moment sorry. Just working through the final book in the series on field work. Have started with the very basics of range work and technique, moving into field work, then how to make drop charts and use apps etc. Then into more advanced topics, building spin drift and compounded Coriolis into the picture (this is not such a big deal for southern hemisphere shooters but the further you go north in the northern hemisphere, the more each take effect as we push through the walls discussed in book 2). I will most likely finish with some long range hunting strategies of a universal nature.

This will be the book that brings everything together. Its not going to be a technical monotone. I want to get readers up to speed as though they were right beside me at the range. So this book has to cut through a lot of BS and drive home major points. It has to be more that "just another theory book". I really need to make a strong connection with readers and get past theory and into practice. As you can imagine, this is absorbing a great deal of my energy as I work hard to make this connection in print.

Anyway, if you want to drop by for a visit and shoot the breeze, come see me at Reloaders. Don't be shy. Funds from any spot book sales on the day will be spent at Reloaders so Steph and I can continue research.

Sounds good Nathan.
I look forward to the book. But auckland is a bit far away.
Just casual is it, unlike the video you made there last time? Which I enjoyed.
you forgot to mention bourbon that's going off can be disposed of.

Have a good trip.

I cannot believe nobody has taken the mickey out of me yet. I am going to Auckland after all. No latte jokes? It is our duty as hunters to rip our Auckland mates with every possible chance we get.

Yes Jason, just casual. I would have enjoyed another evening seminar but Reloaders have been under the hammer of late as far as work load goes. Regardless, one on one or basic Q&A work with a small group can be good. I quite like interactive work.

Lets stick it to the Aucklanders. I love Auckland, only been to the Land of the Long White Cloud once and all I only went to Auckland. Loved it.

Interesting though, when I grew up in Melbourne we gave to the Sydney siders. Up here in Cairns we give it too those who live in Brownsville (because it never rains in Townsville).

Everyone in the land of Oz gives to the Kiwis, when that becomes old hat we give it to Adelaidiens.

It's universal though, When lived in Luxembourg the locals would give to the Belgians, actually all of Europe gave it to the poor old Belgians, except the poms, they give it to the Irish.

I must be getting old -I totally missed April fools day!!!!

Re: Nathan at Reloaders Supplies on the 10th
I thought a flat white was just a little bit of milk, a cappuccino more milk, and and a latte even more milk. Now Warwick is telling me that the foam bubble sizes make a difference.

Where does my blonde with two legs fit into this?

How the hell am I going to survive this trip!

Perhaps I can talk about the properties of denatured whey proteins during the frothing, the anti oxidant benefits. Then a rhetoric on how we used to feed whey to pigs, but now its white gold- unless it goes through the drier wrong, then it becomes expanding builders foam. Good Taranaki dairy industry survival skills. Latte- yeah whatever, we invented the cow. You want foam, pull this.

As for Ozzies, the bastards are planning an attack- see here:

Now we're talkin.

Re: Nathan at Reloaders Supplies on the 10th
this cracks me up.
can imagine what its like down country as your sluicing your goldmine plot, the drover rides by saying he's heard rumours that up in auckland they have smokeless gun powder. you guys thinking "must be some kind of wizardry, im still amazed at the performance of the minie ball out of the rifled musket"

there's Aucklanders and people from auckland city you'll recognise these people Nathan they got pointy shoes so long you would think they were ski jumping

it was pretty easy to see that there's still a lot of people that can benefit from Nathan research.
the conversation did end up on the subject of pigs so thought i would post this clip for a laugh its been around for few years now but still makes me laugh https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A46Ndk-ru0U

Re: Nathan at Reloaders Supplies on the 10th
Thanks Thomas, it was great to meet you too, bloody great.

Auckland- our first break from work in several years.

Auckland- mad traffic. Drivers and conditions more dangerous than any gun owner. Siri tells a lie, we go round and around the same area completely lost for what seems forever. Siri, you are a complete bitch. On the third attempt at escape, I note a guy on a zimmer frame is making better progress getting from point A to point B. I make plans to obtain a light saber in case we have to sleep inside a homeless person for the night.

Great dining up north with friends, Matakana Takapuna. A genuine Italian restaurant, a whole family affair with mother hen at the helm.

Great dining in an Indian restaurant voted of all things, as one of the cheapest in Auckland (down south). Enquiring minds. Mild curry please for us country folk- holy shit my eyeballs are on fire- and they call this mild. I am sweating. Steph is eating red wine for dinner. Nevertheless, the food is very tasty once the shock passes and body adjusts. Riley playing with the restaurant owners daughter- hindi dance, all new to a country girl.

Chinese therapuetic massage in a mall- never thought I would experience this but pushed into it. Beaten senseless by a man half my size with steel capped elbows, pressure points, pain, then relaxation. Simply amazing. I have to ask the question, why do the Chinese insist on buying takeaway food shops? So cliched. A farming community such as ours would benefit from a deeper cultural exchange such as I have just experienced. Might save a few ACC claims.

Rainbows End theme park. Riley is off the charts with excitement, screams all the way around the roller coaster ride and every other ride.

Home now, freezing cold here. Back to work, books don't write themselves.

Thanks to all of those who attended. I am especially grateful for the book and kit purchases, the funds went straight into store credit for research. Again, we are immensely grateful for this. I hope I was able to help a few of you out with rifle projects etc.

Re: Nathan at Reloaders Supplies on the 10th
Auckland just got too big. I remember as a kid in west Auckland, chasing pheasants around apple orchards with a bow and arrow. Great times - long gone now. That SIRI can be a conniving bitch. I much say I prefer Mr Google, but we have had some communication break downs at different points along the way too! Too frikkin big and way too busy now. I'm am always glad to get there to see family and glad to get out!
