300 Win Mag Powder?

Scott Sharman

Just purchased a custom 300WM which will be used for long range work. Rem 700 with stainless varmint contour.

I'll be loading the 178 and 208 AMAX in Win brass.

I'm still note sure on the powder. Choice is ADI 2213SC or 2217. Also interested in whether LR or Mag primers should be used?

Advice appreciated.

Scott

Hi Scott,

I use the powders you list in mine 2213sc for the lighter pills and 2217 for the big stuff.
Dont use the magnum primers though, using Fed 210 Match Golds and very happy with the results.

Hi Scott;

Found a sweet spot just at velocity Nathan advice talking about the 300 winnie.

2870 fps, 208 amax, RWS brass (thick walls), 70,5 H4831sc.

I want a slower burner, but just can get this. After all, happy with the results.
