Craig HenardThe stud is wanting to dig in to the homemade blue jean sandbags that I have.I also think MAYBE it is causeing some inconsistancy in groups . Will it hurt anything to remove it(does it screw into aluminum chassis ?) remove it with plyers? Hole need to be plugged? Thanks Craig |

Nathan FosterRe: Can Bipod stud be removed from Remington 700 Long range?Remove the front one, leave the rear of the two forward studs in place.Use your sling swivel to unwind it. If nothing else, use a wire coat hanger. Careful not to scratch the stock. No need to plug. |

Nathan FosterRe: Can Bipod stud be removed from Remington 700 Long range?FYI, a bloke rings me yesterday, says he has picked up his new 700 LR and has done this and that to it so far and is now into load work. I ask about the group sizes and he says everything so far is under a half inch whether he seats close to the lands or with jump or with a heavy bullet or a light bullet (7mm Rem Mag).Plenty of potential Craig. Just have to be patient as you work through everything. Yes- always a chance of a dud barrel in any rifle, but still, just work through one day at a time. |
