Thanks for your reply on the boyds stock,will order one when i get home.
I am on holidays near a large gun shop and will take the opportunity to visit it. Was thinking either 200gn partitions or maybe 160gn TTSX barnes for sambar in my tikka 8x57.....what do you think ? I also already have 200gn speers.

Hi Mal, you are in a good situation as the ranges will be short and velocities mild, neither too little, nor too high to cause excessive bullet stress. Its a great situation to be in and due to these circumstances, you can take your pick of bullets. Yes, the TSX will do- but so will your 200 grain Speer or the 200 grain Partition. Pretty much any 200 grain bullet will get the job done as you are not pushing the bullets too hard. That said, I would be chasing maximum safe velocities combined with optimum accuracy.

You can have your cake and eat it.
