Re: Reloading Blaser R8
you need to find it in a reloading manual, you will see there your start loads as well.
or look through the kindly donated information here for a article called...Determining COAL.

good luck, and be safe!

Re: Reloading Blaser R8
good choice of load. I use them in my old girl and are happy with results thus far...as to overall length if you want them to feed through magazine that is a consideration distance of lands another. I got a heck of a shock the other night as measured distance from rifling using cleaning rod method and then seated projectile accordingly..problem being it was waaay too long for magazine.
quick way to get it about right is set up seating die with a loaded round your rifle likes and you SHOULDNT be far off. then try them through magazine and chamber (in a safe place of course)and please watch muzzle control while doing it.
mine are 84mm end to end

Hi Amjad, the three variables you must take into account are the length of your individual rifle throat, the length of your magazine and the optmum length for concentricity (optimum bullet to bore alignment). This may sound confusing but it is not so hard to understand once each is explained.

Here is a link to the article Jason mentioned. This will help you determine the optimum cartridge over all length (COAL) for your rifle.

Please let us know if you if you have trouble understanding any of the article. One of us will do our best to re-explain things from another angle to help make sure you understand.
