7mm rifle replacement advice

i'm looking for some rifle replacement buying advice.
Background: several years ago i had a 7mm wby from Cooper of Montana. Had it all tuned in and consistently shooting 1/2 MOA groups. Beautifully made rifle shot like a dream. Last year i had a house fire and we lost everything, including this rifle. We're luckly, family got out with no issues and i have good insurance that is replacing everything.

Several months ago i put in an order to with Cooper to have it replaced. last month they announced they were moving their operations and production facility. They will not be able to fulfill my order by the time my insurance claim is up. So i have to pivot

I like the Weatherby and am setup for reloading it but i've only got about 5 months to get a replacement so i'm not opposed to something similar. I'd like to say within the 7mm caliber and have about $4000 USD to spend on just the rifle.

what suggestions do folks have? I get this is a bit open ended, but i'm now worried about time. I'm probably more interested in performance of a good hunting rifle than the looks.

Sean

Hi Sean, first of, glad to hear everyone made it out alright, belongings can be replaced, family cannot.

You can contact Kirby Allen at [email protected], he is known for building some amazing custom rifles. Hope this helps.

Hi Shawn, sorry late into this after the Xmas break. You could have someone build a 7mm Practical (same speeds as Wby but no big jump) based on a M700 clone action as per the Cooper. Would not be such a big deal. Just depends on whether you have any good smiths nearby. The trouble is, everyone in the industry is backed up a couple of years at the moment, not just Cooper. Perhaps if you could simply obtain the raw (unchambered) items, that might be a start.
