Just about to aquire this 308 Bolt action Krika Not sure date of manufacture or condition but for $400 CND with a scope and amo and case, can't go wrong. Any comments on Krika (Kriegeskort & Co) guns and specifically this gun would be appreciated

Hi Matt, I think this is what was known as a Kriko, not Krika.

Unfortunately, the photo tells me nothing. A rifle of this age should be checked for multiple issues:

Is the barrel pitted (regardless of whether it is shiny to look through)?
Is the stock in good condition (pull the rifle apart and look for cracks)?
Is the underside of the receiver rusted?
Is the bolt face pitted, how does the extractor look.
Is the stock shape going to be OK for scope use - being that it probably has a large drop at the heel for open sights? It may simply prove sub optimal, poor cheek weld and target acquisition / re-acquisition, also accentuating recoil when prone.
Are the mounts suitable for your optics, if not, what type of mounts will fit it (if any).
What is the exact nature of the design. Is it a basic Mauser footprint or perhaps an element of the 700 (washer style lug), or is it some budget nonsense declared 'innovative' by a gun writer who thinks that quality is linked to the difficulty in pronouncing a company name.

There is is a lot to consider. Take it slowly, step by step.

All the best.

Yes. I hear you, Nathan. All I have too is the grainy photo from the fellow. Same fellow who sold me the Parker Hale. He’s an 80 year old patient of mine and a life long hunter who’s contemporaries , like he, are closing out his hunting life n selling guns. He always contacts me for first dibs when another friend announces he is selling his guns. Kinda cool. Seeing it is selling for $400 with scope case n some ammo I’m just going to roll the dice and purchase without the barter or close inspection

By the way. That Parker Hale bedding seems to have been successful. My 12 y old boy, Sam shot a 1 1/2 inch 100Y group shooting over a Quad Seat last week with it I’ll attach a few photos
