Bedding the Ruger M77 Mk II rifle video--Applicable to M77 Hawkeye?

I have all of Nathan's books but, given that a picture is worth a 1000 words and a video is worth 1000 pictures, I just purchased Nathan's "How to make and install pillars for the Tikka rifle" and "Tikka rifle bedding" (Part 3 and Part 4 and final of Tikka rifle accuracy series) to help me best accurize my 358 Norma "Maxis" and 30-06 Axis--both with Boyd stocks. The videos are impressive. I think Nathan's techniques and documentation offers more attention to detail than I've ever seen in a pillar bedding howto (and I've seen a lot of them--online and in books). These two Tikka videos are highly applicable to my Savage rifles and I'm tempted to buy the first two Tikka videos as well, just to have the complete set.

I also have two Ruger M77 Hawkeye rifles that I'd like to bed--a 300 RCM and 338 RCM. They are beautiful rifles but, unlike the Savage, they don't shoot all that well right out of the box. Would the "Bedding the Ruger M77 Mk II rifle" be similarly applicable to my somewhat different model? I think both the Mk II and the Hawkeye have the angled takedown screw.

I"m planning to take my 358 Norma Maxis (26" and heavy) and my Ruger M77 338 RCM as backup (20" barrel and ....well "compact") on my Idaho moose hunt. The hunt started Sept. 30 and runs until the day before Thanksgiving. The weather needs too cool a bit more or I'll likely not be able to get the meat all out of woods before it spoils, if I have a successful hunt, until the weather changes but I'll be hunting by Oct. 1st, no matter what!

Hi Calin, thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, the video is applicable to the Hawkeye. The Hawkeye is more or less a re-branding / marketing exercise. Other than a slight change to the trigger, they are one and the same rifle.

Thanks for your prompt reply, Nathan!

I ordered your first two Tikka videos to complete my Tikka set and also ordered your M77 bedding video. The download links have always arrived at my email intox quite promptly too!

These videos are a great learning tool!
