Remington 700 ss bolt question

trevor savagejust wanting to know, is the Remington stainless steel bolt Stainless steel.why is the end of the bolt black? the rest of it and the rifle's are a sliver color. |

Nathan FosterRe: Remington 700 ss bolt questionHi Trev, the bolt head is seperate to the bolt body and bolt handle. The three parts are soldered together. The bolt heads of the M700 are always Chrome moly while the body and handle can be either Chrome moly or stainless. |
