Do any of you have experience with the Sellier and Bellot soft points? Specifically 30-06 ammo seems to be available with this ammo in 180 grains. Any experience with deer size game with them?

Hi Lane, the performance of this bullet is identical to the 180gr Sierra round nose. You will find plenty of info on this in the KB.

S&B have made some hot loads in the past but not so much these days. In your Bergara with near max spec chamber and 22" barrel, expect somewhere between 2600 and 2650fps. It is very much in line with other basic loadings / brands. Best results will occur if you can keep your shots well forward.

Re: Hunting with Sellier & Bellot Ammo
Nathan,

Thank you. Beggars can't be choosers this day and age so I'm just trying to be sure that I have the basics covered in the 30-06 and other rifles and then keeping the really good stuff for the 308. Still have plenty of fine ammo and components for that rifle. I don't want to shoot the 308 a lot because I want to save powder and projectiles for hunting so just finding basics.

Headed to pronghorn hunt in October. Nilgai in February.
