COALs for 35 Whelen

Loading for a Remington with a very long throat. Wondering if folks load their bullets all the way in and make them jump a ton or if I can get them a little closer to the lands and also get a little more powder capacity. Loading 250 Partitions mostly, but also 225 Accubonds. Mostly worried about brass life/donut if I seat the bullets out longer in the neck. Obviously have plenty of magazine length to play with. Thanks in advance.

I own and load for a 35 Whelen using both of the bullets that you mention. The important thing is to avoid pushing the minimal shoulder back, creating excess headspace. Seating a bullet "long" will not contribute to the "donut" effect. If the throat allows, I suggest you check accuracy with the bullets seated just short of magazine length. -Ed
