Need help.

I have manged to secure my first pig hunt for next month and have run out of 2206h. The local supplier had run out too, and appears to be out of it more than in stock... surely this would point to increasing the size of their orders... but alas no. I currently use the 44.5 2206h under a 168 AMAX from my 20inch SPS tactical. MV about 2670. Can anyone recommend a factory load that is similar in performance? Or I suppose a 2208 load maybe?

Cheers Mike

Re: Need help.
Options in factory ammo:
Hornady Match
Hornady TAP
Hornady Superformance 165gr SST (will work well on pigs)

Hand load options:
Test 47 grains ADI 2208 to try and duplicate current load, working up to 48 grains comp[ressed. Note, start load is 1 grain above book max!!! Will be unsafe in other rifles. This information is only relative to Mike's rifle in an attempt to duplicate previous load which was 1 grain above book max.

If accuracy with above is poor, change to Federal 215 magnum primer to alter 2208 burn rate (closer to 2206H).

All the best.

Re: Need help.
Try H335 with Fed 210. Gain velocity over 2206H and 2208 and just as accurate.

Re: Need help.
UPDATE: Thanks for all the replies, I managed to get a small supply of 2206h off a member of the Townsville marksmans club. The pig hunt was unsuccessful unfortunately, I arrived 2 days after the others and it appears that all the local pigs had been cleaned up. 10 in total, none seen for the next 3 days I was there. Got to see a whole lot of great country. Waterholes with lots of pelicans and other bird life, a family of Dingoes tucking into the pigs that had been dropped earlier and a six foot long goana that charged up a tree right next to me - I nearly had to change my pants after that one! Good people and great country. Had a ball.
