Robert McLeanHave some new winchester brass, worn all my old stuff to the point where most of it won't neck size to hold the bullet anymore. I have some win 760 powder that I need to burn. I know that Trailboss is preferable but is it a big issue to use up that Win 760 to fireform? Never had brand spankin new brass before. |

Robert McLeanRe: Fireform 270 win with W760Well, going to do it. Low end of the scale load, full length sized. See what happens this weekend. Looks like it could be the last nice above freezing day of the year on saturday. |

Paul LevermanRe: Fireform 270 win with W760If you are just using it for fireforming, you'll be good. I never realized how temperature sensitive it was until I used some of my hunting loads during the summer. That's what? A difference of 15 - 30 degrees? Bolt was very hard to open, not quite a hammer, but close. As soon as it cooled down, all was good again. Pulled all the bullets and used the powder for a pyro display. No more ball powder for me. |
