SPS Barrel

Trying to find a load for a SPS in 300WinMag.

These are pics of the barrel after approx. 85 rounds.







I think this is probably a "slow fouler".

Going to try a TMK (these pics were after shooting SSTs).

Something I forgot to mention, in case you didn't notice, is there is a decided lack of tooling marks in this barrel. I had to look pretty hard to find one on a land, but now I don't see it anymore. A guy at the range said he had heard something about the new Rems being exceptional due to a massive re-tooling project. Could be.

A word of warning: be very careful what chemicals you use on your barrel. They are painted and it comes off.

Thanks Paul. I've neem using Hoppe's Benchrest Copper Solvent for a long time now and haven't had any issues yet. I'll keep an eye out.

All my hunting rigs are Remington 700's and I haven't seen this problem. The 7mm-08's I got them in 2009 and the 7mm Rem Mag in 2015, maybe its something new?
