Wyatt’s Outdoors DetMag

Fellas,

I’m curious if any of you have used or are using Wyatt’s DetMag system on some of your rifles. I’m considering that system for the 7mm Rem Mag I’m putting together.

The maximum COAL I’ve seen for the magnum model is listed as 3.700”, which should be more than enough for the bullets I’m looking to use.

I think it might be a good option for ease of loading and unloading, especially considering that I chose to use a rail over the top of the action. The increased capacity could also prove very useful if I ever decided to push the 7mm Rem Mag cartridge to its absolute limit on game, such as moose or brown bear, as well as giving it a bit more utility in any sort of apocalypse/WROL situations.

What do you guys think of these DetMag setups from Wyatt’s?

I forget the brand, but I bought a hard plastic one, base plate & mag about $250, when I tried to tighten the action screws the counter sunk screws split the plastic. They didn't hesitate to give me a refund so I'd say it was a common problem. If they were made for flathead screws, no problem.
