do internet search on it...I know of guys who have whacked barrel right down 1" at a time and run it through chrony all the way down to rediculas short. the funny thing is it SPEEDS UP to begin with then steadies then drops.... you can have trouble getting bullets subsonic if too short I believe is the theory,left long they slow down once past powder burn/pressue peak sort of thing.
I think above post is about right the 18" sort of thing is about ideal,I know my norinco is far too long but I dont want to pay $60 to get it recrowned and threaded.
