Use it on every rifle l do.

Its uniform as long as you heat it genitally
wont stick to the compound
bind to the threads etc.
If you leave it just longer provides a slightly pointed tip aiding to guide into pillar (l fill the small hollow with Plasticine).
If it stays behind after you have removed your blind donor & knocked out the action it will simply push out of the hole.

As Nathan has said with release, l kiwi polish the thread & shaft before fitting.
