Ok so with the scale perpendicular to the trigger it gives a reading of 3lbs.
With the spring removed usng the same technique it is just over 1lb.

The reason I drilled the spring recess deeper was because the adjuster was only touching the spring the last turn in on its thread. So even with the adjuster right out the spring still had close to the max tension on the trigger.
