Howa stock shortening options

Gidday all

I bought my wife a howa 1500 in 308 and have been setting it up for her to hunt with but quickly came to realize that at 5.2 tall she needs a shortened but stock and raised cheek rest probably close to what you would set up for a child lol.
I've got Talleys low 30 mm rings to lower the scope as much as possible but I need to shorten the stock quite abit. Is it possible to modify the existing howa stock or do I need to look at changing stocks? Anybody have experience with these stocks or have ideas on what I can do?

A Boyds would be ideal for this Sebastian, very easy to work on. Weight is the same as the Hogue.

I have handled the tactical type stock with free standing pistol grip and adjustable settings. The one I handled (Howa Axiom) was utter rubbish. The materials were OK, but the design and ergonomics were shocking. Made by somebody who had no understanding of shooting fundamentals, no real time in the hills. Do not put your wife through this.

I have never cut down a Hogue sorry. The risk is cutting away the screw mount points. You would then have to burn prep the inner and try to stabilize. The stock would have to be stood up, forcing the stabilizer to run down to the bottom of the butt (temporarily sealed off with duct tape). Once set, you could drill and screw into the stabilizer. Again, a Boyds would be easier to cut down.

I liked the look of the GRS stocks for howa that fully adjust but I doubt the stock will be short enough and I'm thinking my wife will get annoyed with to many things to get caught up in the bush. I want to set it up so it fits her perfectly because she only has experience with my rifles and it's frustrating for her and me as it restricts her shooting ability with cheek weld and eye relief.
Chris I think that will be the way to go if you want to put together another stock, phoebe would greatly appreciate it!
I guess if I keep the original stock I can swap them out if I need to use her rifle and set up a custom stock for her.
She did bloody well yesterday shooting sub MOA groups but I could tell it was incredibly frustrating for her and took all the enjoyment out of it not fitting properly.
