How long to leave cases in Tumbler?

Hi guys

This may seem like a silly question but, how long do you leave brass in a tumbler to get rid of sizing lube etc. I normally leave the cases in the tumbler for a couple of hours, I hear a few guys leave them in over night.
Can you damage brass leaving it in too long?
What do you reckon?

I don't like leaving cases in the tumbler any longer than necessary, just enough for a thorough clean. There is too many variables such as type of media, age of it and condition of cases to give a set time frame. My own system is periodic checks after the first two hours and this includes an external and internal exam.
