Wound Database

As part of our ongoing research, we are inviting viewers to contribute autopsy photograghs.

Unfortunately, a few years ago, I lost a great deal of my hard copy photos, hunting various game species.  This was a great loss, the photo's were an invaluable resource. Nevertheless, we have the technology!

If you have been reading through the Knowledge Base and have come across a statement about a certian bullet and thought "ah yes, I have seen this performance" etc and if you have photos, I would be very grateful for photographic donations.

I would also like to paste some of these photos within cartridge texts, therefore, if you donate photos, they will become our property. Please, only donate photos if you are happy to part with the copy given and have it published. When we initially publish photos, you will have an opportunity to review them and review my comments. If you do not like the context, you can ask to have the photo's removed or comments edited during the review period (2 weeks, starting from the first day the photo appears live).

As the Wound Database builds, I will endevour to categorize photos by caliber and create caliber based sub pages for optimum viewing/research.  Please bare with me as we get this started.

How to donate photos

To donate photo's, please email me directly with your photos attached, along with comments to:

nathan@ballisticstudies.com

I will then upload the photos and comments to these pages. The more detail (some people call it 'graphic' or 'gore') the better and remember to keep your camera's handy the next time you are dressing game!

I do not expect all photo's to be showing perfect shot placement.  You may have found a load that was very forgiving with shot placement during a high pressure hunt. This is what its all about, the nuts and bolts of it, the small bores, the mediums, the big bores, all with stories to tell.

Thanks,  Nathan.

Please use the navigation pane at the left of this page to view photos in the Wound Database (the menu will increase as more photos come in).
