hi guys i brought a p14 for a good price a little while ago to use the action as a project.
im planning on using a boyd stock and timney trigger.
the barrel is the original and bit pass it so looking for ideas if i reberrel what calibre to go with the mag is 78mm long but action is 91mm from what i can work out which leaves alot of options ( there a nice one in 458 win mag at serious shooters at moment )
i have thought bout using the 303 shell and necking it up to 338, 358 or 375
i done some research and found that a 375/303 is very similar to a 375 nitro express 2 1/2.
just after ideas and options
it'll be a long term project but want some direction before i start

Re: p 14 project
hi ben
it doesnt look to bad with action in stock havent shot it yet to see if it does anything barrels pretty screwed.
it was bit of a trial run really as stock isnt going to be used, really helped me understand how it works and puts a nerves at ease bit more. got a parker hale in 308 i might bed after i give it a good grouping test.

got to love the 3 oh i got couple lee enfields. managed to pick up the p14 for $140 only brought it cause heard the actions were good but barrels pretty screwed.
think they were around 170 grain maybe 174 gr. use to use the 303 ammo that came in box's of 32 rounds think made around 1960's

Re: p 14 project
I like it Thomas. So this one is going to be 308 norma magnum?
It's going to look very similar to my P17 25-06. Can't wait to see it all together.
And see how it shoots.

Well thought out project Thomas with a great collection of components, my hat is tipped to you sir.
The classic shape Boyd's is very comfortable to shoot on both my 9.3mm & 06.

This Nathan person you speak of helps nurture all sorts of ideas hey! l have been in trouble with the Minister for Everything I do many, many times! hahhahaaaa.
