Nathan FosterRe: Laminate Rifle stocksReally great to see you get the ball rolling after so much intensive research. Thanks for your kind words. The stock is great, something I can truly recommend without reservations.Hats off to you Clive. To our general readers, Clive has with his team, worked relentlessly at designing an optimum stock for both prone and offhand shooting. The design combines science with practicality and is not exclusive to any one discipline. Seldom can one tool perform in a variety of roles, yet with a great deal of diligence, Clive has achieved this. In the shooting book, I wrote about a transferable skill set. This is a stock to suit that skill set. I have shared a photo below. Please note that you can see me holding one of the prototypes in the DRT video part 2 (also in the Cartridges book second edition). I might take some more video soon and post to youtube following Clive's permission as there are several aspects to this design that I would like to relay in detail. In any case, whether by blog or video, I want to pass on this info for the sake of our readers. Some key factors: - Pistol grip Suits all adult hand sizes. - Pistol grip suits prone and snap - Excellent full forend grip for offhand or prone traditional. Yet does not feel bulky. - Long forend for pack work and or extended bipod position (no more blooded knuckles with traditional hold!!!). - Vastly Reduced recoil. - Side mount sling vastly dcreases rotaional force under recoil (must try this versus e.g Tikka to witness first hand). - Side carry feels quite comfortable and long forend aids low carry. - Oil finish on laminates offers excellent grip and is very easy to maintain. - Aesthetically pleasing lines. |

Dan KeeneRe: Laminate Rifle stocksHi Clive,Thanks for sending the stock up. It is even better in real life. If anyone in Auckland wants to see it we have one here at Reloaders Supplies. However I must warn you that it "Screams New Project" at everyone who handles it ;0) Cheers,Dan. |

Clive JuddRe: Laminate Rifle stocksHey guys,Like any manufacturing start up, during the early days there will be some products that get to the end of the line that don't meet exacting requirements, so we are making these available at a bargain price. We have available Remington 700 LA and SA BDL, length of pull spacers available at extra cost. Minor cosmetic issues and the stocks will require pillars and bedding to obtain optimum accuracy. Price is $380 plus shipping. NZ only at this stage. Email us at [email protected] if you would like one. Cheers Clive. |

Nathan FosterRe: Laminate Rifle stocksHey guys, I have put together a short vid, showing the Precision Platforms stock, plus Clive when he came to visit. Its just a rough teaser and it is set to unlisted view so don't expect to see a million views. I simply knocked this up because I wanted to share how neat the stock is with a few folk.Note that I will need to take the vid down soon it fails to showcase the carbon fibre stock and other aspects including branding which Clive will want to address and show for himself when he and his team are ready. It is not a product launch video. Anyway, have fun. https://youtu.be/ZXBJRKjv8EU |

Dan KeeneRe: Laminate Rifle stocksGreat video Nathan.Guys this is well worth viewing. The recoil reduction / management qualities have to be seen to be believed. You have done a great job on the stock design Clive. It deserves to be a great success. Could have made it more "Tactical" though ;0) |

Martin TaylorRe: Laminate Rifle stocksWould take one in LA Rem right now if we could get it over the ditch!Would be nice not needing to modify my stocks to more or less the same shape! |

Clive JuddRe: Laminate Rifle stocksThanks for all the positive feedback guys. I remember meeting up with Nathan 6 years ago to discuss stock design as his observations for a practical field rifle were akin to my own ( I read an article of his in a magazine and hunted him out), but with him having a lot more experience around the bigger bores it really helped shaped this product.Nathan and another guy in NZ Special forces have had our first prototypes for almost two years, and with their independent testing and our testing and observations we have a highly optimized stock. Martin I take it you are talking about Aussie? consider it done, just touch base with us via email. |

Francis SaundersRe: Laminate Rifle stocksSorry the carbon fibre ones! |

Nathan FosterRe: Laminate Rifle stocksHi Francis, yes Clive is still making stocks (see my .308 hack rifle video from a while back, I think about 5min into it). Send me an email and I will pass on his email address. He does not have a site up and running yet because he is a very naughty boy who keeps making stocks rather than doing interwebby stuff. |

Brendon GreigRe: Laminate Rifle stocksIs there much difference between the carbon fiber stocks and the laminate stocks as I would like to put one on my 223 as a match for my 7mm Rem Mag which has one of the early laminate stocks |
